Please see attached Flyer with ride information.

The trail ride is $40 dollars and the Dual sport ride is $20.

the trail ride is more because there are significant expenses including forest permit, arrows, lunch etc.

Lunch is not included with the adventure/dual sport option.

trail ride is entirely in the forest.

The dual sport ride will use roads and road allowances.

Careful in the Ganny people. It is really dry in there and the sand is really deep in many areas. The good news is there is no mud or water.

How will this be coordinated with all the regular riders the Ganny has on a Sunday?

Considering the trail ride with my DRZ400. Stock Pirelli tires and moderate experience. Any feedback or would dual sport ride be more appropriate? Bike still has stock exhaust which I assume complies. Thanks.

Multi use forest so expect to see Atv's,horses, hikers,Mtb's and the odd jeep.
11 thousand acres to play in so it won't be a problem.

The easy trail ride route should be no problem on stock tires.

Thanks to those that rode the Mid-Summer Dream Trail Ride. Unfortunately this event will no longer continue under the current format. The financial losses can no longer be sustained by the club. I've heard all the reasons why the event does not attract riders but it is very discouraging when I was doing the final trail checks on Saturday and had more people on the marked trail than those that rode it on Sunday.

So that's it, one more event fades into the history books.

I ride there all the time. I was out on Saturday and my regular route used some of the arrowed trail. This is not on purpose, it's just that there's only so many different ways to get around. In a multi-user forest I don't see how you could prevent people from riding trails. I'd be more worried about idiots pulling down arrows and messing up the event. I understand the issue about costs, that's a large burden. Thanks for your work in the forest, I'll bet those that came out enjoyed the day.

We are not trying to prevent other people from riding the trails we arrow but we had hoped that more people would understand that the club that hosts events like this work on maintaining these trails and need the support to continue doing the work necessary to keep the trail network open.
Having lost sizable amounts of money for a club our size for the last two years is not sustainable.

We have discussed alternatives such as a GPS / geocache type of event that we could host for far less cost that would add an extra challenge to just a trail ride that some may find interesting.

One of the drawbacks is having these rides on Sundays. I ride Ganny pretty much every Saturday so I don't have to sit in traffic for 3 to 4 hours to drive home to Burlington on Sunday's. That cottage traffic is a killer!
