I agree that details are very thin. The web site still details only the 2017 ride. There is a post on facebook asking for more details but no response yet.

I am going to be up there by myself and probably looking to pair up with some others.

Just an update. I went and rode but course was way too tough for me. All single track and lots of steep granite outcrops and some deep mud and roots. Likely when down or stuck about dozen times and ended up bailing after 28Kms - which took 3 hours. Physically exhausting. Thinking long stretches would be level 5. I have done a fair number of organized rides in the past and assumed this would be like the old Soggy Boot ride that covered a lot of snowmobile trails. I was wrong. I am sure ride was good for most but way beyond the style of ride I am used to or enjoy. Nevertheless, appreciate the work the organizers did and assume for most it was good. Guess I should have asked more questions before starting.

nprice: What bike were you riding?

It was a pretty challenging course.

For those interested, here is a the layout of the first 40 km of the course.

I was on the yellow DRZ 400. I got separated from my riding partner early on so was solo. A few times I was thinking I may be spending the night out there. Thanks to those that helped me when stuck.

I remember seeing your bike, it was a green plated DRZ. Here is some of my footage from yesterday for others to see what you are talking about.

Does any of this run through any private property or is it all fair game ? Wasn't able to make it out on the weekend but might ride this with my brother this coming weekend.

Usually OFTR tells the riders at the riders meeting if there is private land in the course, but I don't recall any such disclaimer.

It's a pretty awesome bit of underutilized trail and I think all OFTR members should use it.

Of course, only OFTR members can ride as OFTR puts up all the effort and money to open stuff like this up for us.

Okay awesome. We are both paying members of the OFTR and fully support what they are working on and have done to date. I do remember them mentioning at the Midhurst ride that there were some single day access only so just wanted to make sure that we could ride there and not be somewhere we shouldn't be.
