    Hi,

I'm trying to find information for the 2019 Soggy Boot Trail Ride.

Does anyone know where you can register? Confirmed date? Details of the event?

I went to the Haliburton Trail Riders website and I keep getting redirected to a pharmacy website....bizarre.

    Cheers,

    Jan

    Hi,

The information in the Haliburton Trail Riders website is from a couple years ago...

    Soggy Boot Trail Ride
    Gooderham, Ontario – July 9, 2017
The Haliburton Trail Riders are very happy to announce that the Soggy Boot is back in action!

    Thanks,

The Soggy Boot ride is such a great event, they do almost no advertising and there is only a small post with time and place on their facebook page a day or two before and 150 guys show up. Fantastic ride!

It's listed as scheduled for July 7 on the OFTR web site.

    Same question here...

Are there different riding levels for the event?

My 16 year old son is a beginner rider on a green plated bike (CRF250F), while I'm an intermediate (older) rider on a blue plated bike (KTM250EXCF).

here is a post from last years thread

Just an update. I went and rode but course was way too tough for me. All single track and lots of steep granite outcrops and some deep mud and roots. Likely when down or stuck about dozen times and ended up bailing after 28Kms - which took 3 hours. Physically exhausting. Thinking long stretches would be level 5. I have done a fair number of organized rides in the past and assumed this would be like the old Soggy Boot ride that covered a lot of snowmobile trails. I was wrong. I am sure ride was good for most but way beyond the style of ride I am used to or enjoy. Nevertheless, appreciate the work the organizers did and assume for most it was good. Guess I should have asked more questions before starting.

We were riding some of the trails a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully will be a little dryer, some of the mud holes where deep. Watch for lines through the tech areas, you pick a wrong line you will get stuck. I aired down my tires to 8-10 psi with hd tubes. Some of the guys I was riding with had only 5 psi. The logs/roots where super slippery. No traction whatsoever, really had to be gentle with the throttle and use momentum. If you hit it wrong with the front wheel you were going down. The rocks where slick also when got covered by mud. Though will be going and giving it a try.
