It's a little more than a month before the mid summer dream, boy summer is catching up fast. The Braintrust got together last night drank some beer ate some chicken wings complained about the government, talked about their motorcycle escapades and then finally mumbled a little about the mid summer dream ride.

Since its in the ganny we can make it pretty easy and pretty killer at the same time. We've had some pretty awesome rides in the past but numbers have dwindled a bit in the last couple years. So the question is what do the riders want in a trail ride?

The beauty of the ride has always been that all skill levels can ride together, you can have a good beginner adventure taking all the green options, have a nice calm trail ride sticking mainly to the orange or have a pretty good test of your endurance and skill by riding all the pinks. Combinations in between can make it as interesting as you want.

So before we go and start laying out trail we thought maybe we'd ask the riders for input, what do you want in a trail ride in the Ganny?

I Really like this ride. It is one of my favorites. For me, I would like a ride that I could tke my wife or kids on. That is, easy stuff with more the optional loops that come back on to the easy where I can meet people who don't choose to do all the loops. I'm wondering why numbers are down? It is great value for non ganny members to get out and ride. Also a really good event for beginners to experienced riders.
With all that said, I have a work commitment so I probably won't be able to make it. But, I will try!!

We were in the Ganny today and it was a great riding day . Traction was perfect and lots of dead fall to make it interesting .

Given that the weather will be warm to hot and sticky, it would be nice to have good sized breaks from the single track at well spaced intervals to give the old (and young) bodies a chance to recuperate. Finding the best two track and fire roads to accomplish this, while balancing the need for the safest route, is an acknowledged challenge. While you are accepting requests, I would like good traction from a midweek rain, no humidity but no dust, no deep whoops and no face slappers. Oh yeah, and no logs on the ground at angles! That should about do it.

Hey now lets not ruin a good ride by taking away the logs and whoops . That's what the bypasses are for when you don't feel like a little rougher trail.

So Rick what are you saying you don't want 120kms of continuous single track?

Glad you picked up on that Bill. Don't get the trail ride confused with the Great Pine, that follows a month and a half later. I am sure that what you come up with will be heavenly.
