How fast does the ferry book up? Do I need to make reservations now for a July trip?
In my experience if you show up a couple hours beforehand you don't need to pre-book. Not sure if that has changed but I have always been able to get on if I allowed extra time. If you want to be last minute, booking would probably be wise. If it's for a bike they can probably always squeeze you on.
Agreed. Show up a couple hors early and you should be fine. I like to do the first one in the am. Get your ticket and go for breakfast. Bikes are first on first of which is nice. Make sure you take your own straps. They provide rope but I have seen them slip on bikes before.
As I recall there is only a limited amount of bikes that they allow on each ferry, so if a group of bikes has prebooked ahead of time you could be out of luck and have to wait for the next ferry. Don't ask me how I know.
Ok, so I called and the lady said reserve now or you won't get on so it is done. Confirmation in my hand.
Stop in at Authentic Belgian Waffles in South Baymouth. I haven't been there but I hear it is great.
