Yesterday I was in Fenelon Falls doing a service call to a customer there. I noticed on the way in to his cottage a muli use trail crossing Northline Rd. I stopped to have a look and noticed that sleds and atvs are allowed use of this trail (I could see atv tracks, but no dirtbike tracks on the trail).

Does anyone know if dualsport bikes are allowed?

Looks like it runs northeast all the way to Kinmount. That would be a cool ride.
West of Northline rd it looks like it runs south into town right through cottage area [-X which I'm guessing is bad news.

Just did some research on the net and it turns out this is part of the Victoria Rail Trail. It specifically states " no two wheel motor vehicles".

    TOO BAD! :(

I really don't understand what the beef against "two wheeled motor vehicles" is!
Why are Quads using the trails OK?
I just don't get the bias towards motorcycles on two wheels.

People on noisy, unplated motorcycles ripping up the turf, wheelieing past other users, etc. Or at least that's the common conception of the problem.

I've checked the "Ontario Trails" website re the Victoria Rail Trail (I believe Ken works with or for them). There is no mention about ORMs on the trail section anywhere. Should they not have listed the areas that we are granted access too?

It seems very unclear to me! :?

The OFTR secured access to the Victoria Rail Trail south of Kinmount all the way through to the "Five Points Area" in the spring of this year. As long as you are an OFTR member, you can ride on that section of the Victoria Rail Trail, you need to have your sticker visible

That's great news, but where or what is the "Five Points Area"?

This is more or less the giant area surrounding Crystal Lake between Kinmount, Gooderham, Buckhorn and Bobcaygeon

If I recall right this was secured last fall by and went into effect on May 1 2013. <kinda old news> It's always good to gain trail. I do realize the "wins" are hard to come by but hopefully more of this is to come .

Hey everyone and OFTR, many thanks for your replies. I hope to get up there for a ride before the season is out. I bet the colours and scenery will be just awsome. :)

Yes, as long as you are 0FTR member and your sticker is visible.
