    Hey guys,

I'm reposting what I wrote in another thread:

And since an OFTR forum doesn't exist (that I know of), I am asking here.

When is the KORMA club going to show up the OFTR site as a club one can join?
Any word yet how many trails will be open to OFTR members? Will the rail trail be one of them?

I noticed the KATVA and HATVA facebook pages had Art Ash coordinating some trails earlier this year (in a photo), so it is very promising that the OFTR and the ATV clubs are working together... hopefully this means a lot more sanctioned riding spots for us and hopefully a lot more cooperation from all the different ATV clubs and bike clubs.... I might just have to join the OFTR again in light of these developments

It would be awesome if the ATV groups all started sharing their trails with motorcycles!

I’m pretty sure that the portion of the Victoria Rail Trail west of Kinmount is open to OFTR members already. It would be great if we got access to the whole trail.

I noticed on their website that the 5 Points Trail System was part of their network. I’ve ridden there many times and just assumed it was open to motorcycles. Maybe I was wrong.

You are probably right that most of 5-points would be open to us already as a lot of that area is crown land. The difference this club will make is that they are going to mark the trails... and the bits that are privately owned will become open to bikes.

That's the thing about some of those ATV clubs -- many of the trails run on crown land so some people ask 'why should I pay for a trail permit if I can legally ride there anyway'... but, they don't tell you which portions are on private land, gaining that knowledge from the crown land atlas would take a lot of time, and on private land is where they will ask for your membership and charge you with trespassing if you don't have one -- not that it happens very often, I've ridden up there with bike and ATV many times and never once have been asked for my permit.

This could change the type of bike I buy next. I am right beside the Victoria Rail Trail, and it would be very nice to be able to use that trail to get to other locations such as Kinmount on a green plated bike. This would truly be a game changer for me and my sons.

Fingers crossed that they will open all the ATV trails to bikes. I have been asking fort access for years, but I am always turned down.

FYI... Kawartha Off Road Motorcycle Association is now a selectable club when joining the OFTR... $30 on top of the OFTR fee (same as all clubs except the ODSC).

Now to see what the trails will be like...

Hopefully their webpage will be up soon, as I would like to see what they have in store. It would be nice to have a viable club closer to home.

I asked somebody at OFTR about Victoria Trail, I was told that motorcycle are only permitted

"from Burnt River north, ORM's are not allowed south of Burnt River at this time."

Will this new club open up any trails that were not accessible to dirt bikes up to now? I was really hoping they would extend the Victoria trail access south. I am really not sure why that doesn't happen.

The VRT access issue is due to the municipality. KATVA may be able to assist in this manner, but doesn't have final say.

Yeah, this area seems to be anti-power sports. I know there are lots of restrictions on ATV use as well.

Fingers crossed that the powers that be will see the benefit of allowing ATVs and bikes greater access in the area.

    Thanks for the info.
