If you are a solo rider and are interested in attending the event and are concerned about riding alone, a representative from the OFTR will be on hand to lead a group.

OFTR President Art Ash will be hanging out near the OFTR tent and has offered to act as solo tour guide operator for the day. This would be for the more aggressive route and not the D.S. portion. THANKS Art.

Signed up and will be there on the 300 2 smoker. Not sure who else from the club is coming but we usually have an informal ODSC group for this ride.

Planning on being there! This is a fantastic ride.
It was actually the first trail ride I ever attended. Showed up with no clue of what to do and a rider parked beside me helped me and rode with me for the day. I was hooked!!

I'm in. Ordered some more aggressive tires for my dr650se. Replace my broken foot peg. So I should be good to go. I'll probably go even if I don't get the tires swapped.
I'm running the dreaded trailwings now. Not bad on hard pack but useless in soft or wet.

I'm keen to do the Dual Sport/Big Bike route - but I'm due to pick someone up at Pearson late afternoon.
Did anyone do the route last year? and if so what sort of time did you finish - or can you bail out anytime?

Time to complete the loop really depends on the rider, how long you hang out at the lunch stop etc. Typically those completing the entire loop are done 3-4 pm ish. That being said there are options to shorten things up if you need. There are two dual sport only options, one in the morning and one in the afternoon which can be skipped if necessary, lots of opportunity to bail as neeed and its an easy bail at lunch back to start if you are so inclined.

Talk to one of the event crew at registration and/or lunch and they will be happy to guide you. You will also be given a printed route map so you can get your bearings throughout the day.

How is the Dual Sport ride set up...ie GPS route, arrowed or led by individual? Is it possible to combine with the trail ride? ( ie trail ride in AM, dual sport in PM) thanks

Both routes are arrowed, so you could switch between them. A summary map is also provided to all participants at the morning Riders Meeting, which shows the overall route, shortcuts and the like.

If you are on a DS bike, it is recommended that you have fairly aggressive knobbies to do the trail ride. The trail ride incorporates a lot of single track, some of which is quite technical, hence the tire recommendation.

Big bikes (eg. Adventure bikes like the KLR 650 and such) are NOT recommended for the trail ride, unless you have mad riding skills at the Chris Birch level. ;-)

John, both routes will be arrowed only No GPS routes for the Dual Sport route.

Everyone will be given a map with routes and Emergency numbers in the morning. There are bailouts for those that need it as well.

Both meet at the same lunch stop so you could do the aggressive in the AM and finish off the Dual Sport in the afternoon.

See me at lunch John and I'll make sure your headed the correct way in the afternoon.

John, your KTM 350 EXC is perfect to do the morning on the aggressive route and finish off with something less challenging.

I'm really looking forward to this ride. I haven't yet bought a membership, because not sure how often I would get up to this area, but checking it out once a year it worth it for me. So, depending on weather, I am in! Can't wait! I'm hoping to do the whole trail, but I'll be driving back to London that evening, so depending how tired I am I guess!

SCORRA volunteers have been out cutting face slappers and cleaning trail getting things ready for next weekend. With the recent rain that we have had this spring there might actually be some mud and water sections out there.

Only have until Sunday night to pre-register and be eligible for the Klim helmet draw.

    Special Draw:
If you pre-register before midnight, Sunday May 21st, you will be entered in a draw for a high-end KLIM helmet! Draw winner will be announced at the Riders Meeting.

    Hope to see you there.
