‘Calling’ Off-Road and Dual Sport motorcyclists in the Quinte/Belleville area.

'REORGANIZATION MEETING’ of the BAYSIDE TRAIL BLAZERS MC.

Concerned riders believe there is a need for an active motorcycle club along the 401 corridor in the Quinte/Belleville area.

The Ontario Federation of Trail Riders (OFTR) in conjunction with former members of the Bayside Club are jointly hosting a ‘reorganization meeting’ on February 08, 2014 in Belleville to get this organization rolling once again.

The Bayside Trail Blazers have a long history in the Quinte region dating back to 1970. They have actively promoted trail riding, dual sport, observed trials, enduros, motocross, ice racing, and dirt track. If any of these activities appeal to you, be sure to attend this meeting.

WHERE: Quinte Wellness Center, 265 Cannifton Rd, Belleville; 401 exit: 544.(Follow orange arrows to Wellness Center)

    WHEN: 1:00 pm, Saturday February 08, 2014

WHO: All off-road & dual sport riders with an interest in seeing an active motorcycle organization in the area.

    WHY: It’s needed. It’s wanted. It’s time.

The Bayside Trail Blazer Motorcycle Club revival meeting was held yesterday with about 30 people in attendance. An interim board of directors was elected to reinstate the legalities such as bringing the incorporation filings up to date, perusing the bylaws and making recommendations for future direction. OFTR Vice President Paul Trethewey will work with the interim board in setting a timeline list of jobs prior to an imminent board meeting.

The interim board will call another general meeting in about a month at the same venue, Quinte Wellness Center, at which time there will be a call for membership and a date set to hold nominations and elections of a permanent board.

Noticeable from the gathering yesterday was an absence of younger non previous BTB members. It was great to see all the ‘grey hair and old hair’ but a new and younger generation of member is what is needed to make this club blossom. To that end it is my hope that a fresh group of interested people will turn up at subsequent meetings.

    Hey Guys,

I am excited to hear off DS club in Belleville. After years of street riding I got hooked on DS riding a few years ago after a trip to Labrador. I am planning to do the Bethany ride east of TO on April 26. Anyone from the area going up for this?

Lots of stuff happening in the Belleville area this weekend. An OO CC race at Shannonville on Sunday, flat track race at Belleville on Monday and a second meeting for the revival of the Bayside Trail Blazers on Friday evening at 7:00pm.

The location of the meeting is the same as original post; The Belleville Wellness Center.

This is a membership meeting and it is the members who will make decisions and guide the organization in the future so if interested please be there, become a member and help make things happen.
