Hi everyone, I was recently contacted by Steve Bond, the Motorcycle Columnist for the Toronto Star. He received the following request:

    Hi Steve,
Steve, I am the event coordinator of The BAD Ride---Bikers Against Despair being a charity fund raiser in support of the Distress Centres (crisis centres). Sunday, May 31st, 2015 will mark the 18th annual B.A.D. ride. Steve, I was reading your articles in the Saturday, December 20th edition of the Toronto Star “Motorcycle Road Trip Going from Oshawa to Picton off the Beaten path”. I was wondering, for this special 18th edition of The BAD Ride, how cool would it be if you and some other off road enthusiasts could develop a route to ride the BAD Ride which this year leaves from Dave & Busters (Highways 400 & 7) with a comfort stop at The Mohawk Inn (401 & Guelph Line, Campbellville) before arriving at the end venue at the Warplane Heritage Museum at the Hamilton airport, Mount Hope while the rest of the riding public take the conventional paved route. Now, that would be cool. Let me know your thoughts.
    With much appreciation,
Stan Letofsky, B.A.D. ride event coordinator

    From: Stanley Letofsky <letofsky@beardwinter.com

Steve doesn't know any of the area that the BAD ride will be covering so can't really contribute to putting together a route for this. Are there any ODSC members who would be interested in tackling this? If yes, please contact Stan directly at letofsky@beardwinter.com or PM me and I will get in touch with him on your behalf.

    Thanks,

    Dave

Re: Need someone to organize a dual sport route for the BAD

I threw a message to Stan...to clarify what sort of riders he organizes.

They've never had a dual sport group go before Bruce, so this is something new they are considering, i think Stan read Steve's article and thought, wow wouldn't it be cool if we could do an on-road/off-road route alongside their more traditional paved route.

    I got the same impression.

I'd consider taking the "adventure" route, could be fun.
