I registered for an OFTR membership but I can't access the membership page.. When I log in, it gives me an error. On my pc or phone. Is anyone else having this problem?

Also, can anyone walk me through the benefits of being an OFTR member? Like does it give me any trail maps, access to areas, a forum for connecting with riders? I'd like to make the most of my membership, it would be much appreciated if someone could help me out with the site navagation! Thanks

    Hi KLX-

Can you take a screenshot of the error from your PC and send it to george@oftr.ca ?
We are working on a number of bugs in the new system and should have most of them taken care of soon.

    As far as OFTR member benefits go, there are many(off the top of my head);
Access to the OFTR trails network; Simcoe Cty, Muskoka(coming this year), Somerville, 5-Points, Northumberland Cty, Limerick, Larose, Calabogie etc. Working on Dufferin, Peterborough Cty Forest, Norfolk etc.
    Reduced pricing for organized rides
    Maps will be coming soon.
Savings at bike shops and other retailers
Group programs such as insurance (launching winter/spring 2016)
    Weekly email newsletter
    Magazine subscriptions
    etc., etc.
Many of the biggest benefits are the ones that are a bit harder to quantify or see easily for the average person-
Advocacy and lobbying. This is the work that opens up new riding areas, keeps existing ones open, builds relationships with Provincial and Municipal Gov't bodies, other trail groups and other stakeholder groups.

    I hope this helps,
    Brian

Yes, I will send you that, thank you Brian. I am especially interested in the organized rides, maps and the trail networks.. Is there a OFTR forum similar to this one or do I just check the website to keep up to date with all that?

I have the same problem. I register at the show and don't have access to any of the member pages. How can I fix this? I see that on here I am a "limited user" status not a paid member. But I paid for membership at bike show.
    cheers

The OFTR doesn't have a forum and is not expecting to have one. The forums are handled here, On SCORRA's site and the BMA site.
The email newsletters you receive every week will keep you up to date, as well as these forums, the OFTR Facebook page (please 'like' us) and the news feed on the OFTR site.

I have asked George to send me your membership notification. It may take a few days.

I sent an email to George, thanks. Member login is where I will find all the trail maps and maps to places I can now ride?

Also I've never received an email newsletter. I'm probably not in your system, even though the transaction went through..

The maps are expected to be added this year, so they aren't in the system yet. In the mean time the best way is to show up to as many rides as you can, both organized and casual. You will quickly learn your way around various areas that way and the most important thing- you'll meet people. Even post up on here, and/or SCORRA when you are interested in riding an area & you'll usually have folks pop out of the woodwork to join you and show you around.
Personally, I have never used any maps, except on an occasional GPS guided organized ride. I think I've met a lot more people & made more friends this way, as there is almost always someone to show me around a new area. Now it's often me showing people around places like Simcoe cty & the Ganny etc.

The email newsletters usually go out on Tuesdays. Depending on where George is in the member setup process could determine if your on the email list. That part should happen automatically, but there have been a few bugs in the new system to work thru.

I registered at the OFTR site, and chose ODSC as my club affiliate. Does that mean I can organize a ride on these forums now??..........

I need my OFTR membership # to register for an event, I can't find it under my profile at the website. I emailed George on the matter and got no response. How do I find my OFTR membership #? Also, when do I get my OFTR sticker and magazine subscriptions, email newsletters, etc?

It depends when you signed up. George has shipped all membership packages as of April 1st earlier this past week. The OFTR number will be on your membership card when you receive it. You should be getting it any day now, I'd expect. Use the email confirmation your rec'd as an alternate proof of membership....

I assume you're referring to registration for the Bethany ride? Ask Kevin Nicol (Lead DRZ) about registering without a number....

For the Beagle Bash endur0 you will need an Off-road Ontario membership. No membership in any organization is required for the trail ride.
