Renting a cottage for a week in July with my parents and my dad is coming over. Bringing both my bikes up and hope to ride some gravel/hydro lines or whatever is up there - any recommendations/GPS tracks in the area?

    Thanks!

There is access to some trails very close to big Chute. They use the the Hydro corridor that runs South from there. See google satellite. Bring good aggressive tires and some skills as you will likely get wet and muddy. As I recall, there are a few wet sections.
Also lots of cottage roads in the area, if you want to stay clean. :)

Perfect - just checked it out out google earth - exactly what I was looking for - if we end up going I'll post some tracks.

    Cheers!

When/where are you going to PS? I have a cottage up there and will be there the 1st week of July.

I think we're on Little Go Home Bay and we're there from the 13th-20th - will we just miss you??

It's been a few years, IIRC, you can make it all the way out to Big Chute Rd. where the rail bed crosses over the road, South of Severn Falls. There was one spot near that end that you need to walk your bike across as the water is kinda deep. IIRC, it's a hard bottom though. Proabably best to be with a couple buddies in that section though, as there are a few places you can get stuck. It may have changed though.
The cottage road that runs along the power corridor south of Burrows lake is fun when riding in a 'spirited' fashion.;)

    Better late then never. :)

I just got done riding the trail south of Big Chute. I video'd it a bit:

The trail starts just south of Big Chute, off of "Little Chute Lane". It's a snowmobile trail that follows the hydro lines, and goes into the bush for some sections. There are water holes every 30-40 feet, and some of the are fairly deep. There are trails to get around most holes, but some of them you need to go through on the side. I took the trail all the way to Burrows Lake, and the trail eventually attached to E. Shore Road.
