Can anyone suggest any OFTR-friendly tracts or trails near Wasaga? Family wants to go for the weekend and I'm thinking of bringing the bike to skip out for an hour of riding.

I do not have access to SCORRA website anymore... But I think 'Hendrie Forest' would be close for you.

Wildman and Phelpson would be the closest SCF tracts

Thanks for the feedback... all of these are a bit of a drive away, but i distinctly recall trails running alongside some of the roads, presumably leading to some excitement nearby.. would anyone care to PM me some tracks from the area?

    Thanks in advance.

The tracks you saw probably were created/maintained by COATV. Their clubhouse is in Wasaga, so I imagine the area nearby is well used and well wardened. Unless you saw single track, in which case disregard.

Head west on Nottawasaga 36/37 sideroad that will get you to the top of the escarpment. Some nice road allowances on the way going up. That'll lead you to some other interesting stuff not far away.

East of town there is a road allowance where Ryther Rd makes a 90 bend south. And a bit further south of that where hwy 26 makes the S bends there are a couple sections of Simcoe cty forest. There are a couple more road allowances out that way as well.
