Trying to find this out for a buddy who I'm looking to take somewhere to ride.... Ganny and Scorra tracks are is getting boring and fallmis such an awesome time to ride Bobcageon and Bancroft trails!

Where can you legally ride a green plate bike?

I understand your own private property is a 'yes' so are designated riding areas like Ganaraska Forest, provided you have the right memberships.

What about trails that don't cross/use major roads such as snowmobile and bike trails around Bobcaygeon? If we park the trailer at the trailhead, can my buddy use ahis green plated bike on the trails? What about areas where the trail comes out alongside the road, followsntheblogging road untilmsplitting back into the woods, is that 'grey' area that's up for discretion??

Follow on question... what happens if you do get caught on the side of the road or somewhere where a cop decides to give you a ticket for riding a green plate 'illegally'? What ticket do you get and does it affect your car insurance or is it a documents type of infraction that doesn't carry any points or anything except for a fine?

Thanks in advance (man, why can't people just buy blue plated bikes!!!).

anything on a road needs to be walked, if there is a trail beside the road and is not considered part on the road and it is on crown land you should be fine.

fines are in accordance to the law and if you are on the road I would imagine they would affect your points... but that all depends on the ticket.

Crown land is land that belong to to the federal or provincial Goverments. It is always administered by these bodies on behalf of the crown for the benefit of residents/citizens. Most of the land in Ontario is Crown land. On Crown land, You can Camp for free up to 21 days on any one site in a calendar year. This ensures sites are available to others and helps reduce environmental impacts.

I enjoyed a few of such whilst doing the TCAT to Kenora this season. Awesome Awesome.
