I spent a few hours running from Hockley up to Terra Nova and beyond for the first time in at least 5 years. Lots of bridge work making it more difficult to connect the usual loops, me on the DR and my brother on his (my former) KLX. Saw a ton of bikes everywhere. For some reason my GPS didn't have any of my former tracks on it so I ran from vague memory and a paper map. I noticed a few barriers and gates up where they never were before....
Then back south on 11 for fuel on my way to check out Swift Rapids Rd, where I was greeted with a gate and sign. I was disappointed since I've been meaning to check this spot out for a few years now, I guess somebody managed to ruin what looks like a really nice scenic trail.

I headed up the east side of Simcoe trying to stick to dirt but at least stuck to the roads with the most turns. The route included Wiley/Alvar roads, Back River Road, Housey's Rapids Rd. I saw a few big bikes but not many bikes in general. I carried enough fuel for the trip and packed a lunch to avoid any stops. I think I'll find a way to extend the route for my next outing, it would be nice if crown land camping...
Did the recent Bruce trail ride with Achilleas, Rudy, Michel, John and Tim. Basically, during the ride just b4 we entered Port Elgin, I made to cross the grass onto the other path as there were overhanging branches to my left (Pic 1).
