Maitland/Saugeen Dual Sport Ride, June 8th 2019

This is the official thread for the 2019 Saugeen-Maitland DS Ride.

Ride description: scenic tour of the Maitland and Saugeen river valleys (Bruce and Grey Counties). The ride is mostly gravel roads, road allowances and some easy trails. The whole thing is very scenic. This is the perfect ride for those who are unsure about riding on gravel roads we'll help you and you will learn how to get comfortable on gravel. The ride is about 250 km long with a fuel stop roughly in the middle. Like I mentioned before, this can be done on any size bike, knobbies are recommended but not necessary.

Ride Start: Meeting and start point will be at the Tim Horton's in Durham (Garafraxa St South) Saturday June 8th at 10:00am. Just to clarify, that's Durham, the town, not the region. Please have your bike fueled and be ready to go at 10.

Cost: Ride is free to members and $10 to non-members.

Lunch: At the Walker House in Southampton. Fuel stop is right after lunch.

I will be leaving from Cambridge at 07:30 am if anyone wants to meet up for the ride to Durham.

GPS route will be posted a couple of days before the ride.

Sounds good! I'll let you know where & when to leave Cambridge closer to the day. Be aware: it's a long day of riding from Cambridge, you may want to go directly from Brampton to Durham...But you're welcome to ride along from my place.

What's the difficulty rating of this ride? Would you say it's 50% off road/50% on road?

Will we be returning to the start point? Or is it a different end point
