In my experience the routes are usually posted in advance. Typically there are multiple routes to accommodate all types of riders (e.g adventure, dual sport, and agressive). There’ll be a pre-ride check-in and usually groups are formed. The Orangeville-Creemore ride is one I look forward to every year. The guys do fantastic job on the routes and the riding is exceptional. Just a great day. I can’t wait.

Anyone up for a ride this Friday (29th)? Thinking of taking the day off and perhaps doing one of the DS routes up to Creemore.

Wish I had the day off to make it up and ride with you.

I do have one question about the ride coming up in July. What sort of membership requirements are there? I just joined OFTR and added ODSC and SCORRA as my clubs. So I'm pretty sure I am covered.

My buddy on the other hand has not joined yet. He may sign up before, but just in case I don't want to show up the day and not be able to ride some trails because he doesn't have a membership.

Yes, you are covered. The oftr/odsc membership is the minimum you need to get on the trails. It’s good to support the club(s) whose trails you ride but it isn’t mandatory.

So just to clarify. The Creemore ride does or does not pass through OFTR trails?

I want to make sure we are covered the day of. We have only ever rode private property, or paid track type riding so up to this point we have never needed any permits. I purchased the memberships because I intend to ride Simcoe County a few times this summer. He on the other may only ride the Creemore ride so I want to make sure I don't tell him to buy the wrong stuff.

I understand that for non ODSC members there would be a 10$ charge regardless. Just want to clarify that the OFTR is a requirement.

Note we are hoping to run mainly the aggressive route if that makes any difference.

    Thanks

    Jason

It depends on the route they plan but it’s a safe bet that the aggressive route, and perhaps even the DS route would consist of SCF single track where OFTR is required. You could always bypass those sections but where’s the fun in that?

Riding sunday to hit the trails in Creemore area. Going have eats there and go for a swim/wade in the river. Head out from the Bolton area around 9ish.

Has anyone done the 7th line East of Mansfield recently? I haven't made it there all summer so I'm curious if it's still doable. Last year a property owner had part of the North exit blocked.
Hoping to do some of the Creemore route tomorrow.

Can't answer your question but may be looking for a ride tomorrow if you're looking for riding partners

Did some of the aggressive route and Dual sport route from the official 2018 Creemore ride.
The washouts on 5th Line are barely passable - much more than last year. Stay well to the left on the uphills - very little trail left to get past the big holes.

I know this area very well as I live here and just to let you know that area of the hydro lines that crosses over the 5th line is actually park land. There are signs posted along the side and no motorized vehicles are allowed (even though I have seen the local kids ripping around on their atvs in there).

Some years back while riding that line north opp were parked there by a trail entrance and had gone in charging anyone they could find in there.

    Just letting you know.

Bump! I don't seem to be able to start a new thread....With all this time off people have anyone interested in a Corona Creemore ride this weekend sometime? Its probably pretty sloppy still. I gotta try out my fresh tires! We can ride with measuring sticks taped to the bikes to ensure safety for all haha!

Please note that if you go up riding that way, Simcoe County Forests are still closed for now, too early in the season to ride trails. But backroads should be fun :)

My Brethren, Better be safe and ensure you ride with someone if you must ride. I have been riding but nothing serious otherwise i will never ride the creemore route alone at this time of year. I have been sticking to the pavement with the Concours 1400 so i just gas and go. If i can sort put my Honda by this weekend....Well bobs ur uncle.

I've been riding pavement too but I think dirt will probably have a lower chance of getting me into trouble. Posting here because I didn't want to ride it alone. I've had good luck with no injuries. I think a nice casual dirt ride is well within undue risk...

What??? That's my old bike? Forgive me for not recognizing, it looks very different; looking good! You might want to put the knobbies back on it if you're going to venture off road ;)
