They are a great looking bike and I even went to look at one but major issues with motors and casting issues . Most of them didn't even get a 1000kms on them and needed new motors which were covered under warranty but they didn't seem any better second time around .

A nice looking bike and they sound awesome! However, they have too much power for most riders, and haven't exactly been the most reliable bike out there. Heavy also. I personally wouldn't want one in the woods....

I took one for a ride. Cool bike but like others said, too heavy for the woods and not very reliable.

The 450 and 530 are identical except the 530 has a larger bore. Some people say the 450 feels like it revs more freely and the 530 feels like it has more low end grunt (which it does).

Its too bad Aprilia didn't just keep the motor in that state of tune for their motard race bike. It was at the top of motard racing in europe but was too much for any other use and really hurt their image here imo. A detuned version of the 550 would have been perfect for an adventure bike or ultimate dualsport without the vibes of a single cyl and 100lbs+ less than the next bike up from the food chain, a KTM twin.
