Ok I am looking for some advise on what is the best affordable action camera for dual sport and offroad riding. My budget is $300 bucks which rules out the high end gopro models. I have my eye on a WASP gidian as it seems to have everything I want in a single purchase. Looping function so I can use it as a dash cam (two accidents in January and one written off truck...all not my fautlt) remote on and off plug aiming functions via wrist watch flexible mounting (rear and side mounts on case) 1080p and decent frame rate . Anyone have one of these and can give me some buying advise?
I have a WASP and a Go Pro Hero 2 (equal to 3 silver). Both are good and you'll often drop the capable HD as it's just too much data/storage. But also, I own a bicycle store that has sold WASP cameras. We have switched to Shimano as bicyclists buy anything that says Shimano. We have one WASP left and if you want it, you can have it wholesale. It's just sitting on the shelf, brand new in a box. Retail price is $269. I buy them from LTP (their wholesaler) for $195 plus tax, so that would be your price. It's the model with the wrist watch control system, but not the LCD screen on the watch). Call the shop at 416 259 2453 if you decide the snatch it. Shawn
I got my Contour2+GPS with AirMiles, not sure it will loop but you can certainly connect to Android via BlueTooth for "preview". When it's on the bike, I have it mounted on my helmet and prefer the smaller surface area, as it reduces wind-drag (which is significant at highway speeds).
I have one of these: http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2013/11/10 ... rentPage=3 It is excellent. Waterproof case, excellent picture and sound, wireless remote, 720P@60FPS, uses cheap, swappable cell phone batteries etc. You can also adjust the file compression which greatly improves the recorded image quality.
