Your understanding is consistent with my own. I am also going to complete registration on Sunday -- I have every faith that they'll figure things out in a nice, friendly and let's-ride manner.
This is the first time the club has ever pre registered anyone for the ride. Yes the methods are not ideal but it works and will save a huge lineup on the day of. If you are a club member and registered online just come see us at the preregistration table the day of with proof and you will get some cash back for bike gas! If we put a club member registration on the live Laps site everyone including non members would choose it. That would make things really complicated. All will work out in the end as it always does. I reminder that this is a club event and not run by a business. Patience and understanding are needed. People are volunteering to run this event and the goal is for everyone to have fun.
Thanks Kevin - appreciate the assurances and of course I understand that there are always growing pains. I was just confused by the messaging compared to the actual online registration functionality. See you Sunday.
No issues. The online reg option only implemented because many were asking. It's the first year for this method as well and a huge learning curve for all.
Thanks to everyone who worked to set this ride up. The weather looks great. Im stoked to do the ride. The Club fees and the ride costs are in my view token amounts. I read that fees raised would be used to maintain trails. Awesome! ✌
Kind of quick question here, If I did not renew my OFTR membership and did not renew ODSC membership as well, can I still ride this ride? ie show up in the morning and pay donation / club fee of some sort? by the way this site has really changed since I last saw it. Looks good, but even the old site was good.
Campers: am leaving d/t Toronto approximately 1730 Saturday. Happy to stop at Church of Saint Andrew Anglican to pick up other riders (2333 Victoria Park Avenue, Toronto, first parking lot South of 401 on Victoria Park Avenue, parking lot entrance is from Terraview Boulevard), probably around 18:00 or so. Was planning to stick with the 401 to get to the field in plenty of time to set up camp in daylight.
Address is 12 Zion Rd . Go north on 12 to reach Rd and turn right. Follow to Simcoe st and turn left (north). Simcoe north 9 to 10 minutes to hamlet of Sonya. Zion is on the right as you leave the 50 km/h zone. Lots of high ground in the yard and a huge field if needed.
I assume I should leave my side cases home? Doing the big bike route and riding there Sunday morning, it would be good to have storage but not if they'll be in the way.
Will GPS route be available early ( like Friday night) to us that are planning on registering on Sunday? Thanks
GPS route will be shared on Friday evening as long as things go smoothly when we ride the route on Friday. If you have a Garmin we will have some abilities to load them on Sunday morning as well.
I will show to support the cause and meet old friends. But I'm not gonna go Crazyfrog On this ride. I'm On a waiting list for knee surgery, therefore even though my KLR is off road ready, him going to take the high road so I don't get in trouble. Cheers.
I'll be leaving from Toronto on Sunday morning. Are there other riders from the area doing the same? And if so where and when is everyone meeting?

There is a group of us that ride to the Bethany start up point every year. We meet at the tim hortons at Morningside and Sheppard roughly 730am. (be a bit earlier if you want to have breakfast). Kickstands up at 8 sharp. we noodle through some back roads and maybe a few trails to arrive between 9 and 930. Anyone is welcome to join.
Does anybody see any reason why I couldn't do the big bike route two-up? I've ridden the Bethany ride before, but on my DRZ.
Hi guys question from a new member. I don't have a GPS, I don't know anyone, not yet anyway. Thinking of going this Sunday but I'm from the west end of GTA. Will I be able to tag along behind others? Thanks
