Glad to hear you guys enjoyed the ride! I certainly did. Just a really great day for a ride, even with the little bit of rain we got.

I've got a couple more similar rides in mind for sometime over the next few months.

We caught some rain through Chatham and east for a bit. Cleared and then later clouded over. Hope the guys riding east from London didn't run into rain.

No: nice dry run east of London. Rode gravel roads to Woodstock then hopped on the 401 for the rest to save time.

Got home at 8:15 pm after 12 hours of riding; slept well last night.

Thanks for the ride Brian, it was a great day of Dual Sporting!

Thanks for inviting me on this ride. It was a blast. Even with the loose gravel!!! Broke in the bike and myself on this trip. Keep me posted on upcoming rides. Thanks Brian, terrific route.

Hi JTP1975 - I hope you don't mind me asking where you got your tank bag from - I thought it was a really nice size and fitted around the tank very well.

I bought it from Inglis Cycle in London. I believe there are a couple different sizes. Gears is the brand name. I can't remember the exact price? Around $60? I like that its magnetic as well. Easy to remove.

    Hi Scott

The route basically followed the Sydenham river from just north of Florence to Wallaceburg. Then over Mitchells Bay for lunch. The ride back followed the Thames River back to London. The GPS file is still on page 1 if you want to download it.

That's a BIG DIRT BIKE in your avatar Scott: are you getting old or just need to increase the challenge level on the trails? Those Hondas are very nice looking bikes...

The AfricaX2 is the perfect bike for the Saugeen-Maitland ride. When I first laid it out ten years ago, it was super long at 500 km just for the route, let alone getting there and back. Saner heads have prevailed and shortened it, but you wouldn't want to ride it on anything too much smaller than a DRZ.
