Not your big brother, but we are being asked to stay home. I understand you are not in close proximity to anyone, but what if you get hurt and need medical attention? You'd be putting additional strain on our health care system, and potentially exposing yourself or others.

Please point me to such ORDER. I searched and find that there is no such ORDER in Canada. It is advisory. To be clear and clearer, this order affects gathering of a certain number upwards. One of our responsibilities is not to indulge in misinformation. This club has not encouraged any such gathering and all club organised rides have been suspended. How clear is that?

The ODSC cannot not tell its members when to ride when it is not a club organised ride. It cannot suspend you for riding without a helment or adequate insurance. There are no enforcement policies on these that i remember signing up to. Keep listening and updating yourselves with the current correct information and stay safe. The ODSC does not support any members who breaks the law period.

I speak in my capacity as a member. The club can collectively make a statement if it wishes.

I agree with @KAOS, and I applaud him for speaking up.

The OFSC closed their trails early March and told everyone to stay home.

I’m a beta tester for 3 motorcycle Apps, they all advise to stay home and only test the features of the app that do not require riding.

Our Government tells us to stay at home and only go out for necessities

I saw this on Instagram and puts thing in perspective

linguist or a semiotician queries can be revisited after the scare. Right now you got me wondering what the hell my neighbors are doing going for walks. Such recklessness.

In anycase.. Each to their own but since i must always have the final say, i thought i would do so in person. Enjoy and be safe.

My apologies to anyone that I may have insulted in my previous posts.

This will be my last comment on this topic.

Our Country is asking for our help by the simple task of staying at home. It's not a Law....yet, and I hope it doesn't have to become one.
You can either step up to the plate to help, or you can continue to do what ever you want.....

    I will stay at home.

    thank you

The truth be told... I am thinking if things get out of hand, that we could actually sign up to deliver such things as food to the elderly living alone, Picking up their medical supplies for them (Drugs stores might have this covered). This can be easily done in our individual communities. I will keep a look out in mine. Just a thought.

Keep your bikes in top shape guys.

The Simcoe County Forest Tails are closed right now and would still be even if Covid 19 was not an issue, the trails are still wet in some areas.

May 1 historically is an open date with County blessing / it's there land that they allow us to use.

If Covid 19 will likely be an issue once dry It is highly unlikely that the County will open their forest to recreational users when they have passed Emergency Orders closing parks, recreation centres etc.

Please be patient, prep Ur bike, work out at home, stay home and wash your hands.

First Responders don't need to be wasting their time responding to a staging area with a bunch of vehicles and bikes in breach of many offences, Bylaw ($1000) and Trespassing would just be a start.

Sorry if this sounds like a rant!

I have a brand new KTM300 TPI wanting to be ridden but WE Can't Right Now!

And neighbors will call and report a group of bikes and the OPP will attend and the County will hear about it.

Please don't potential ruin a very strong working relationship SCORRA / OFTR have with the County.

The following is my personal opinion, not the official position of the club execs, as we have not formally discussed this issue other than cancel organized rides for the foreseeable future. I did not write this, just amended to suit this discussion; it was copied from the OFAH (Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters). I happen to agree with their position and statement:

The province is currently urging people to stay home except for trips for essentials such as groceries and medicine. This restriction is not mandatory at this point, but Premier Ford has been clear it could happen if people do not voluntarily stay home, practice proper physical distancing, and abide by the emergency measures.

As much as we all want to go motorcycling this spring so riders can take advantage of the physical and mental health benefits these activities bring, in this public health emergency they can only take place within guidelines provided by public health officials. We want the outdoors community to be a part of the solution to help save lives, protect our economy, and regain some normalcy in our lives as soon as possible.

The province has introduced emergency measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19, and this impacts fishing and hunting in the following ways:

    • The closure of all provincial parks and conservation reserves
    • The closure of all outdoor recreational amenities, which has prompted the closure of many municipal boat launches and other publicly accessible lands
    • Prohibiting gatherings of more than five people
    • Closure of non-essential workplaces, including many retailers who sell goods and licences to anglers and hunters
Because COVID-19 related closures are happening rapidly, we have created the websitewww.ofah.org/covid19closuresto help our members keep track. This is not a complete list and we ask that anglers and hunters share any additional closures they are aware of. Information can be sent tofwintern@ofah.org.

Advice from Anglers and Hunters to Anglers and Hunters

As anglers and hunters, we need to do our part to keep ourselves, our families and our communities safe. We were all looking forward to this spring and now COVID-19 means that we may have to compromise on our spring fishing and hunting plans. If you are still able to go hunting and fishing in your area, here’s what you can do to stay safe in addition tostrict adherence to provincial health guidelines:

    • Reduce the Risk – Riding Can Wait
Anyone who begins to feel unwell (fever, new cough or difficulty breathing) should self-isolate immediately.

The province strongly recommends that people over 70 years old or who have compromised immune systems and/or underlying medical conditions self-isolate.

Do not ride off road, which increases the risk of getting hurt, getting stuck or breaking down.

Riding can wait until you are not putting yourself or the public at risk.Stay home.

    • Any riding Should Be Local
Ride as local as possible. Do not travel long distances and don’t make any unnecessary trips or stops along the way.

    • Conserve Our First Responder Resources
Please remember any preventable accident requiring medical attention or an emergency services response,no matter how minor, will place you, healthcare workers, and/or first responders at additional risk. Our healthcare system is under tremendous strain at the moment, and space and services may be limited. Be safe.

    • Stay Away From Others
Maintain physical distancing (at least 2 metres) at all times. If areas you had planned to visit are in heavy use, making physical distancing impossible, go elsewhere.

    • Be In the Know If You Decide To Go
Before you go anywhere, check on the operational status or restrictions at any land, parking area, access point, or boat launch you’re intending to use. Closures and restrictions are not consistent across the province, so we’ve started a list to help keep track of them – visitofah.org/covid19closures

    • Try Private Land First if Possible
While we recognize that not everyone has access to private land, if you do, try there before venturing into public areas as they may be far too busy, or in many cases, closed. Everyone go to Kevin's farm to ride this week end ;)

Contact your private landowner prior to the season. Ask your landowner what works best to keep everyone safe while enjoying permission to access private land. The OFAH has an electronic landowner permission form that you can usehttps://www.ofah.org/fishing-hunting/hunting/

While I might ride my KLR to go run the few errands I have to do, and maybe take the slightly more fun route home, I will not go out on extended rides just for fun. I will stay home.
