A site I found thru Thumpertalk. Might interest some. http://www.stopthrillcraft.org/
I didn't bother going through the whole site...as far as I'm concerned it's the work of one guy with an ax to grind and enough money to set up a skookum web site.
I did happen upon this quote in his "Vision" page though:
It sure reminded me of something that Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park author) wrote and spoke about a while back. Kind of a long read (link below)...but a very interesting take on things. He's bang on as far as I'm concerned.

Wow.. I also think that Michael Crichton article is bang on. Environmentalism is the new religion. I also agree that the Eden that the tree hungers yearn for is now, we are living in it.
I also agree that most tree hungers have a very romantic view of nature. Good for them because it is not reality. We live in an increadibly controlled world. Our house, cars, workplace and shopping malls are all carefully climate controlled. It really makes no difference what Mother Nature is doing outside, we feel no change. It is an amazing luxury really, I can only imagine what life was like 100 years ago in the winter (cold) or summer (heat and bugs). Life 200 years ago would be unbearable for 99% of the population (including me) where every day was a battle with nature for survival.
Take the guy who wrote the anti-thrill craft rant, put him out in the bush that has been untouched by thrillcraft, and have him commune for nature for a fews days. Maybe some place like this:

(some random place in Northern Ontario)
Once he gets over his Starbucks addiction, see if he doesn't want a thrillcraft rider to pull him out of there while he is still alive.
