I'm new to the whole Garmin/Basecamp thing. I'm creating a track on my lap top and notice that Basecamp allows me to see it on google earth. Very cool. Is there a way I can share this google earth track with a friend who does not have Basecamp? He live in the area i'm heading and i'm looking for his input on my plans.
Thanks for any help with this,
    Drew

    Hey Drew,

I don't know if you can export the track directly to Google Earth, but your friend can download/install Basecamp and you can send him the Garmin file.

    See if that works.

    Cheers,

From basecamp have your route selected, go to file-export, you should see your file listed at the top, click it and in the save as box select KML as your file type.
Done, send your friend the KML file and it will open in google earth

    Thanks for the tips
I assumed he needed to be a Garmin owner to use Basecamp. I guess I have 2 ways to share with him now
