A couple times last year my engine would bog for a few miles and then clear up on its own. It happened again this year, but would not go away until I leaned the bike over and ran some gas out the overflow. I figure there is some goop (technical term) in the carb and I am planning on removing and cleaning it. Problem is I haven't done this since high school. Is there a site online that will help me with this project? Thanks in advance.
Hi Randy, Not sure about a site for this but if you want to come over to my place sometime I can give you a hand with it. Just pm me with you phone number if you are interested. You might also want to consider the air box mod and re jetting it at the same time.
just a quick note that may save you some time and aggravation (spalling?). you may want to check that the tank venting is not bunged up. The fuel petcock may also be suspect in some rare cases if all of the above does not work. have fun
