Good point on the zip ties. I should have specified, I carry regular ones for regular jobs and extra large heavy duty zip ties for holding a flat tire in place

Finally all back together! I even rode it under her own power about 10 feet inside the garage last night. Small victory!
Insurance policy comes into effect tomorrow, safety on Tuesday, reserved a time slot at the MTO on Thursday!!

I Got my Hayabusa muffler the other day in the mail, I'm just finishing up the custom mid pipe. I did fire it up today and the volume isn't any louder than stock, which is what I was hoping for. More power and no extra noise. I'll have to do a bit of jetting and playing around.

Got out today for my first ride on the DR600!
My destinations included the gas station, and the shoulder of the road (5 times) haha. Set the carb float height too low, add in some crusty bits of tank debris and an “ out of gas” condition can be yours as well. Spent half an hour righting my wrongs; tweaking the tab on the float, and cleaning the bottom of the carb, now just waiting for another chance to go exploring

I bet it was nice to get out! The nice weather is coming.

I hate having to hit the shoulder if there's traffic behind me, I reset my trip meter by accident one time and ran out of fuel, hopefully it was a once in a lifetime experience. I also had my bike die in an intersection waiting to turn left. (Vacuum throttle slide stuck open)

Try throwing one of these filters on you can buy them by the bag on Amazon for peanuts they won't plug up very easily. 20210508_174412.jpg

Weather was perfect, and I intentionally took traffic-free routes for this shakedown. I also rode past one of those displayed Radar speed signs to verify my ebay speedo, 55km/h indicated is 50km/h ACTUAL, close enough for me.
@dean.f I am going to grab a couple filters and clear flue line on Monday for that very reason, hopefully only a few tank fulls to rattle all the crap out into the filters
