As many of you know there is an online fund raiser happening now. I am pleased to see that a hundred people have donated and the total is climbing hourly. This has been a bountiful year for OFTR and affiliated clubs. My club, NTR, have 120 more members than last year and to this end we have some extra money therefore we have decided to contribute to Lang's Offroad. We have sent our money directly to Rob to forgo the 10% fee charged by GoFundMe. Northumberland Trail Riders put forward the challenge to other Ontario clubs to match or better our $10 per member (290) donation to the Rob Lang Restoration Fund. I just took a look at the go Fund Me and more than $12000 has been raised so far, let's keep it going! It's nice to see the off road community support one of our own.
I don't think that we should keep this going when Lang's is not going to need all the money that has been donated to date, and is looking for another cause or organization to redirect some money to. I know myself and others would would have liked to have known this before donating earlier this week.
While the fundraising goal has been reached, we know that Rob will need much moral and financial support during these difficult times. With that in mind, the club executives voted for a $1000 donation from the ODSC. Rob has mentioned that if he doesn't need the money he might return it to the donors or pay it forward to other organizations. If that is the case, our board supports his choice. We just want to show Rob our support and recognition to him personally and to his business; with a no strings attached donation. On a related note, Lang's Off-Road is back up and running already for parts orders and will be back in a few days as service shop
Thank you to all who have graciously donated. The Funds will be put to good use. As we continue to put things back together and grow a bigger and better store then you once knew. We have almost got all the inventory that survived cleaned up and back online and we are soon to get Rob settled in and back working on bikes again. We do have a few units that are taking priority before we can accept any new work, but we expect to be able to continue service of new units just before Christmas and into the new year. if you have any need for parts either listed and showing on order or not listed on our website, a quick email, or phone call and Craig will do his best to help you out as quickly as possible.
