Honda Xr 250 R muffler

    I bought this bike for my son as is. Can anyone tell me how I can make the bike quieter, it is missing the lower lid, and I tried covering it up but it didn,t make an appreciable difference. Also would there be a spark arrestor inside this muffler? I would like to take the bike to Ganaraska forest and I am concerned about the exhaust requirements.
