Hi Guys, A few of us have booked a dirt bike tour in Morocco (4 days of riding - Mini Mountain & Desert Tour). Jan 21st-26th 2012. Part of that tour goes through the Erg Chebbi, where Dan and I spent the better part of a week racing the Tuareg Rallye. You'll love it!
Wow, I just read your ADV ride report. What an experience, very inspiring! Looking forward to playing in the desert. Hopefully I'll get to do a rally someday. It's on my list!
Yes, the tour was about $1800 CDN (bikes, full gear, fuel, accommodation and food). Flights were a little under $1,100. Just beer money and insurance on top of that. I'll be saving up for Cambodia another year.
Might have to head over there for a 2013 trip. Has been on my "to-do" list. Good write up and love the pics.
having seen your presentation at the agm, I was very surprised at the value for the money. Excellent amount of riding over the 4 days, well organized and excellent guide service. Is Jan the ideal time to go? Any reason you selected January?

I picked January mostly because it worked well for the me and other folks I traveled with. I also knew I'd have to bribe my wife with a trip south and January usually has good deals. The weather was perfect for riding. Didn't jump in the pool but that's not why we went. Any time of year that isn't too hot I'm sure would be great.
