The Super Sunday will be happening on October 2nd, 2016. We're planning on starting from the Walsingham community Centre, ride and have a social meet after the ride. There will be a GPS guided ride for DS bikes. Riders with kids can ride in St-Williams forest (green plated & insured bikes).

Come and ride along beautiful back roads in tobacco growing country. There will be some more difficult sections and forest trail, but all can be bypassed for those unsure of their off-road ability.

This will be open to members & non-members. More details will be provided later.

    Michel

Rick & I pre-rode the route yesterday and everything is in great shape! Roads aren't too dusty, forest sections have just the right amount of mud, St-Williams has just the right amount of whoops. Even the 8th concession is passable this year, for the more adventurous, as long as we don't get too much rain.

This ride is suitable for all sizes DS bikes with a street plate. Full knobbies are recommended but not necessary. The more difficult sections can be bypassed. Briefing for the DS ride will be at 10:15 am and depart at 10:30.

For those with trail bikes and/or kids, you can ride in St-Williams forest all day, just a few Kms from the Walsingham community center. Green plates and insurance are required to ride in the forest.

There will be a social with chilli, buns, salad & drinks after the ride, at the community center. Aiming for around 3:00 pm for the for the food.

GPS route will be published on Friday before the event.

Please post here if you intend to come for this event, so we can plan on how much food to procure.

This is very scenic and fun route through tobacco country, lots of gravel roads and some fun trails...Come out and join us for this fun fall ride!

I went looking on Google Maps, can't find Walsingham Community Centre. Want to update the event on meetup, currently kinda stuck.

No. We are meeting at the Walsingham community centre. Corner of Hwy 59 and Concession 6. This is in downtown Walsingham which is approximately .8 Kms long. The hall is as visible from the highway as it is in the picture. Right behind the hall is a paved parking lot with lots of room. If you are bringing the family you can always park at the forest which on a very dry and wide dirt road.
The DS ride will start and end at the hall. We will be passing through St Williams forest.

    K. I can't get Meetup (or Google Maps) to provide a proper address for "Walsingham Community Centre", nor "Walsingham South Hall", so I'll go with "3 Concession Street". Thanks!

Ok. So There is no such thing as 3 concession street. It is the sixth concession road or concession street. No number 3.

I'd like to attend. I'm also trying to talk a friend into going...I think I'll trailer my bike out and ride from there.

Given how much rain has come down in southern Ontario in the last few days, the state of the route is on "flexible" status. Some trail portions of the route will be cut out because of the wetness. As a result there will not be a GPS route published. Our man Rick will guide the DS route and adjust as we go, according to conditions. There will likely be close to 200 km still left on the route.

We will keep the trail portions we can, ie: not too wet. Those trail portions can be bypassed for those who would rather stay on the road.

Please be ready to ride with your tank full. The closest gas station is at hwy 24/Forestry Farm Rd. The station in Pine Grove is closed for renovations. There are also a number of stations in Simcoe.

Ride briefing will be at 10:15am. We will depart at 10:30.

There will be chili, buns and refreshments after the ride at the community center.

Cost is $10 for members and $20 for non-members.

The event is happening rain or shine. So come on out, ride & socialize with fellow ODSC people!

    Michel
