Looking to do a road trip south over Christmas \:D/ I've looked into Highland Park and Durhamtown and some of the areas in Tennessee. Anyone have any advice or recommendations? Is Tennessee far enough south to ride this time of year?

Depends how much cold you are comfortable with. Temps have been in the single digits Celcius in that area lately. Not sure about rain/snow etc.

Been down to both over the past few years.

I'd recommend Georgia over Tennessee for weather and terrain. Tennessee areas I've been to are very gnarly (rocky & hilly) and dominated by quad and jeep tracks. You'll probably find the weather a bit nicer in Georgia as well.

In general you'll find more variety and single track at Highland Park. Durhamtown is more wide open with lots of MX tracks strewn around the main loop. If it's wet out Durhamtown closes down a lot of its single track. We've been there when hardly any of it is open

Here's some helmet cam video I shot at Durhamtown last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTmX44uE ... ture=g-all

Depending on how long you're going for, we usually ride Durhamtown for about 1-1/2 days then head over for another 1-1/2 days at Highland Park.

I would go as south as possible. It is pretty cold in TN around Christmas. My buddy lives outside of Nashville and he says they often get a bit of snow around then.

Drop in to Chesterman's in Tillsonburg. Its always nice inside and you'll get a great workout.

I'm going to try to get down there a few more times this winter.

I'm not allowed anywhere near anything resembling a motocross track or anything with jumps since crashing and being concussed this past summer at RJ's. [-X #-o

Gotta keep at least one wheel on the ground for now. :D
