Nice looking bike Outrider! It's possible that the seal went on the shock. Check the shaft for oil. I had the seal leak on mine. Maybe the nitrogen needs to be recharged. The reason it feels fine now is the shock has cooled down and the oil has thickened.
Ok, there seems to be a lot of fibbing going on here!! I know Al's bike and that is not it! Al's bike is red on one side and green on the other so he can act as a channel marker for the rest of us when we ride deep the water! Wow, what a difference some TLC can make, it looks awesome. Wow thats Al's old bike ? Don't forget to pull the plug on the bottom of the motor to change the water...errr oil before you head out again.
Hey there "outrider". Don't worry about Al's bike, I can tell you that he never rode it in any water deeper than his "private parts" as that was the only time that I know of that he thought it was a little too deep!! Had me a bit worried as his XR + Darryls XR + my KTM were making motor boat exhaust noises!! Don't worry, we are only puling your leg with true stories. It really is a great bike. John
Jeff The bike looks great!! Don't listen to these numbskulls. The XR never missed a beat in 3 seasons!; never!! I hope there is nothing significant going on with the rear shock. Have fun this spring, Al
leak The 650R rear shock can accept pressures up to 250psi in the desert - I run 200 with the 10.5kg spring bc the spring is too strong for me but the 200 helps reduce the rebound. Otherwise I would use 230 if I weighed 30lbs more. Obviously low oil viscosity contributes to the leak. I have pictures of Als bike with water inside the headlight and water pouring from the exhaust.
