Hi all, My 2005 Honda XR650L has some exhaust plumbing that apparently can be removed. Is there a performance difference and if yes, how do I do this ? I heard XR650R plate will fit. Any help is appreciated - Captain
XRL plumbing I had an older XRL, which had some, but not all the plumbing you are talking about. With mine, it was only a matter of removing it all, then, buying or making plates to block the holes left in the front of the cylinder. Search the XR forum over @ Thumper Talk, there will be lots of info. That, and a couple other mods, like removing the top of the air box, and a couple of carb mods will really wake the bike up. The Supertrapp ISD2 is a good quiet replacement for the stock silencer, if you have a few bucks to spare. Al
